Happy 90th Birthday – Aubrey Scrase

Aubrey Scrase joined RGS in 1957 and taught Latin at the school for 40 years before taking retirement in 1996. Simply known as ‘Aubs’ to many, his role at RGS extended far beyond teaching.

Over the decades Aubs coached many sports, lead Scout groups and was heavily involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme not to mention organising trips the theatre and opera. Although Aubs retired many years ago, he remains a constant figure at RGS and still walks over to the school every day to have his lunch!

On 5 October Aubs celebrated his 90th birthday and was presented with a book from the Foundation which contained birthday messages, memories and recollections from many of those he taught over the years.

Aubs was sincerely touched by the many contributions to his book and the Foundation would like to thank all of those who contributed.
