This new Trade Association Insurance Service (TAIS) is a ‘right of membership’ facility available to members of the largest Business Organisation in the UK (165,000 members, UK-wide). It is a Joint Venture run by the Trade Association and Markel (a Fortune 500 company) in the newly formed business Ruskin Square Limited. It is essentially an Insurance Broker run by members of the association, for members and partially owned by members. It has therefore, unrivalled access to a community of 165,000 SME businesses. The Opportunity

Ruskin Square are seeking Graduate Trainees who will be provided with;

• A 12 week training programme to enable proficiency in UK General Insurance with an emphasis on Commercial Lines

Duties and accountabilities

Graduate Trainees will be trained to;

• Manage incoming sales and member/customer enquiry calls
• Produce and issue quotation & new business documentation
• Assist customers to protect their material assets and liabilities
• Follow up and convert leads as well as making outbound calls
• Work productively and efficiently as a member of a sales team as well as contributing to team discussion in regards to progression and positive change
• Achieve agreed sales targets, both individually and as part of the overall sales team
• Maintain, and achieve growth in income from existing customers
• Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with Insurers and Underwriters in a professional manor
• Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations are met
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all products and services as to assist customers

Skills, knowledge and experience

The successful candidate will have;

• Been educated to degree level
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn findings into recommendations or positive activity
• Good planning, organisational and time management skills
• IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong presentation skills
• Be polite and co-operative towards others

The successful candidate will be trained to

• Have a clear understanding of the UK insurance market and its dynamics
• Be competent at selling SME general insurance
• Have a minimum of CII FIT Qualification
• Have a full working knowledge of Acturis operating system
• Be confident in delivering sales targets
• Build successful business relationships
