Meet our amazing student volunteers

Demonstrating the RGS values of care and compassion, many of our students have been volunteering in some way during this crisis. The two stories below give a snapshot of just some of the initiatives that our younger Reigatians are getting involved with – we couldn’t be more proud.

Shopping for those in isolation

Anna W (pictured above left), has been working hard, in between her studies, as part of the Brockham Emergency Response Team (BERT). This charity (Reg No: 1171175) in Brockham village is helping to ensure that the vulnerable  in the local community and surrounding area are being looked after.

Anna and her sister, Kate, are helping with the organisation and delivery of food to those unable to leave their homes or facing particular hardship or distress as a result of the impact of COVID-19. Unfortunately, there are quite a few families impacted in the area so they are all making a huge difference to so many.

Printing face shields for healthcare workers

Hugo R has been very busy over the Easter holiday. He has been using his 3D printer to print face shields for local hospitals, GP surgeries and care homes. He signed up as a volunteer with 3D Crowd UK and has been printing in his bedroom to help provide face shields for health workers.
