Fancy a glass of Founder’s Ale, anyone?

For Founder’s Day 2021, we were excited to report that our friends at Pilgrim Brewery produced another charity beer – Henry Smith Founder’s Ale – in support of the Nightingale Fund.

HENRY SMITH FOUNDER’S ALE: SOLD OUT!

Reigate Grammar School was founded in 1675, through a legacy gift of £1,000 from Henry Smith, to “educate the poor children of Reigate”. RGS will soon celebrate its 350th anniversary and, in memory of its founder, believes all Reigatians are on a journey of noble purpose, as Pilgrims, to progress and make the world a better place.

You can now raise a glass of Founder’s Ale to Henry Smith in the knowledge that all profits go directly towards the RGS Foundation’s social mobility campaign to give children from disadvantaged backgrounds access to a world-class education, helping them to fulfil their potential. Enjoy!

About this beer

The recipe is the same as Pilgrim Brewery’s flagship ale, Progress, which was created in 1982. Brewed with the finest British malts to give a rich, bitter-sweet ale, which are complemented with British, American and Slovenian hops. Alc. 4% vol.

How to order

We have now sold all stock of Founder’s Ale for 2021. Plans are in place to sell NIGHTINALE beer again this summer. If you would like to be added to the pre-order list, please email foundation@www.rgs.foundation.
