So who are Reading Room?

Who is talking?
Adam Sefton, Reading Room’s Head of Strategy

What do we know about him?
Adam is a trained copywriter, a self-taught web programmer and an ex-planner. Prior to joining Reading Room, he spent time at agencies such as Exposure and R/GA, and worked on clients as diverse as the NHS, ŠKODA, Sony, Nokia and Unilever. His work has won and been shortlisted for a variety of awards, his writing has been published in a variety of industry journals and in 2014 he was voted onto The Drum Digerati, the top 100 most influential people in the digital industry.

The last few years have seen a huge uptake of people talking about the benefits of data, specifically Big Data, and how better collecting and understanding it could revolutionise, well, everything. However, is this growing reliance on data always a good thing? Can data always give us the right answer? Join Adam Sefton, Reading Room’s Head of Strategy, as he looks at the dangers inherent in big data, how data can be misused and misunderstood, and how we should perhaps be wary of this growing reliance on what is often fiction masquerading as fact.
