Pilgrim Fund

Supporting the development of the School

From time to time the Foundation is asked to help support specific development projects that enhance the fabric of Reigate Grammar School and its learning environment. The Pilgrim Fund is a restricted fund that directs philanthropic support to such projects. Thanks to the generosity of the Reigatian Community we have raised significant funds to enable improvements to many aspects of the School. Smaller-scale projects have included a weather station and health & fitness suite. Most recently, we are very thankful to the Peter Harrison Foundation for a £4m gift towards the construction of our new Sixth Form and learning Resource Centre in the heart of the campus.

Recent successful projects include:

  • The Peter Harrison Foundation Centre
  • The new RGS Hockey Centre at Hartswood
  • The RGS Weather Station
  • The Health & Fitness Suite
  • Electronic Cricket Scoreboard for Hartswood Pavilion
  • Robotic equipment for the Robotics Society
  • Film-making equipment
  • Photographic equipment for the Photography Club

We are always happy to listen and discuss new ideas that will benefit life at RGS. If you wish to discuss any aspect of the Pilgrim Fund please contact Sean Davey, Development Director: spd@reigategrammar.org

The broad education and resilience developed at RGS gave me a firm foundation for the challenges of working life.

Sir Peter Gershon (RGS 1958-1966)

I promise to make the most of the opportunities available to me, because I’m constantly reminded of the journey which has brought me here and realise that it began with the gift of an RGS education.

Karolina Csathy (RGS 2008-2015)

I am confident that together the Reigatian community will make a huge difference to the lives of many deserving children.

David Walliams (RGS 1981-1989)
