South Africa 1998 Rugby Tour Reunion @ Pilgrim Brewery
On Saturday 11 August almost three quarters of the original 1998 RGS touring squad to South Africa met at the Pilgrim Brewery in the heart of Reigate for their twenty year reunion. Numbers were swelled with by addition of children, wives and parents, some of which even made the trip for the 3 week tour.
Special mentions go to Ed Garner who made the trip over from Malaysia, Ed Kidd who flew in from Auckland especially for this event and Jiro Taylor (all ’98) who made the journey in from Australia. Clearly, the attraction of tour captain Stephen McMahon leading a motivational rally to former teammates was too good to miss!
With a special ale commissioned for the day courtesy of Pilgrim brewery – stories were recalled, photos exchanged and friendships rekindled. A memorable day and our thanks go to everyone that attended and of course Pilgrim Brewery for their tremendous hospitality.
