Oxford Regional Gathering

On Tuesday 12 February, a group of 25 RGS students travelled to Oxford to take a look at the university to see if they might want to apply.

We were very grateful to Sophie Gunning (’17) for giving them a tour of Brasenose College.  Also, to Dr Benjamin Skipp (’00) Lecturer and Tutor and Maddy Withers (’17) for showing them around Hertford College and arranging a presentation about admissions from the Hertford outreach officer.

To cap off a great day, we held a gathering for RGS alumni.

The Regional gathering

A very enjoyable evening held in the Drawing Room of the Principal’s lodgings at Hertford College. A relaxed affair, with cheese and wine, saw many meet for the first time as well as some catching up with contemporaries for the first time since school days.  A particularly good rendition of ‘He who would valiant be’ added a flourish to the evening, reminding everyone of RGS and what connects them together.

With lots of chat about jobs, their time at RGS and the differences over the years, everyone parted happy to have met and asking when we might be able to do it again. Our special thanks go to Benjamin for hosting us.

If you would be interested in helping arrange a gathering local to you, do email Caroline.  Check out our events calendar to see what is coming up.
